Nepali Orange Junar Tree

In Nepal, local orange varieties, particularly sweet oranges (Citrus sinensis) known as Junar, are primarily cultivated in the mid-hills region. While sweet orange cultivation is believed to have been introduced in the 1800s, local varieties have adapted to the Nepalese climate and are commercially grown in districts like Sindhuli and Ramechhap. Mandarin oranges (Citrus reticulata), also known as Suntala, are another significant citrus fruit, with a long history of cultivation in Nepal.
