- Origin: Developed in Japan in 1972 from a cross between Kikusui and Yakumo.
- Chill Hours: Requires approximately 300–400 chill hours.
- Altitude: Grows well up to 1,800 meters in suitable temperate to subtropical climates.
- Pollination: Not self-fertile – requires a compatible pollinizer such as Shinseiki, 20th Century (Nijisseiki), or Bartlett.
